Construction Manager

Roles:
Construction Managers are responsible for the overall organization, execution, safety, quality and productivity of construction projects from the start of projects to completion. This can include activities like:

Managing construction efforts to ensure projects are completed according to design, and making sure they are on budget and on schedule

Planning and organizing site personnel, subcontractors, equipment and materials

Ensuring the maintenance of work procedures, quality standards and compliance with project requirements and specifications

Assisting in the review and analysis of project status reports, cost reports and schedules

Ensuring ongoing, timely communication and reporting to senior management on major issues, challenges and performance.

Education:
Educational backgrounds will vary depending on the type of construction work you are applying for. However, a degree in Engineering or as a Technologist is generally Preferred. Experience in the desired industry (e.g. construction, oil and gas) is also needed. A solid background in budgeting, scheduling, computerized estimating, leadership and management experience is also preferred.
